During the world’s largest industrial fair, the project members IFS Design UG, Citec Engineering and Information GmbH and SAERTEX GmbH & Co. KG met in Hanover on 26 April 2016 to celebrate the successful completion of DIN SPEC 91326 – fire retardant, multiaxial reinforced composite parts, manufactured in vacuum process technologies for railway vehicle applications.

Wind turbines are exposed to extreme stresses and environmental influences. The leading edges of rotor blades are particularly susceptible to damaging erosion and the accumulation of ice, depending upon the weather conditions. This can lead to turbine damage and significant degradation of its aerodynamic performance.

SAERTEX engineer Steffen Baitinger will give a lecture at the official opening of the “BladeMaker Demonstration Centre” at the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy and Energy System Technology (IWES) on April 27th 2016 in Bremerhaven. The lecture will deal with the issue of fibre based material technologies with respect to cost reduction and automated composites manufacturing.

SAERTEX and its partners involved in the working group "DIN SPEC 81000 - Testing Method for Technical Textiles" – TexTechno, Faserinstitut Bremen (Bremen Fibre Institute), Groz-Beckert and the FTA Forschungsgesellschaft for Textiltechnik (FTA Research Centre for Textile Technology) – will receive the DIN Innovation Award 2016 which is to be awarded during the 2016 Hanover Messe (25 – 29 April).

SAERTEX will once again exhibit at JEC Americas, the international trade show for the composites industry, on May 3-5.

On the 16th February 2016, SAERTEX organized a technical conference in the College of Engineers of Valencia. In total more than 20 participants from different segments like construction, architecture, rail vehicle or aviation joined the event.
