Successful completion of DIN SPEC 91326

During the world’s largest industrial fair, the project members IFS Design UG, Citec Engineering and Information GmbH and SAERTEX GmbH & Co. KG met in Hanover on 26 April 2016 to celebrate the successful completion of DIN SPEC 91326 – fire retardant, multiaxial reinforced composite parts, manufactured in vacuum process technologies for railway vehicle applications.

This document provides railway vehicles designers with standardised material and process parameters for FRP lightweight structures during the dimensioning and design phase. From a materials perspective, the requirements for fulfilling new European fire protection standards applicable to railway vehicles pursuant to EN 45.545, are also taken into consideration.

The DIN SPEC 91326 has been available in German since March 2016. An English language version is scheduled for release in June 2016.

SAERTEX, as the project initiator, would like to thank all participants who helped implement the DIN SPEC 91326.
