MULTIAXIAL REINFORCEMENTS FOR THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITES

SAERTEX has more than 30 years of experience in the design and application of non-crimp fabrics (NCF) for thermoplastic composites. Every day, the products are being developed further. Since 2010, SAERTEX has also been doing intensive research and development work to design and manufacture suitable NCFs for thermoplastic composites.
These composite materials are now more and more in focus as a weight-saving alternative for sheet metals, and also to enhance the mechanical properties of components made using injection or compression molding. Here, the use of multiaxial non-crimp fabrics as a textile reinforcement for thermoplastic composites creates a widely untapped opportunity.

Non-crimp fabrics offer optimal fiber orientations and area weights per layer in a multi-layer structure. And these can be manufactured in a single step. Additionally, spreading rovings enable the production of fabrics with a very smooth surface. Thermoplastic composite material reinforced by non-crimp fabrics forms an excellent supplementary product to currently available composites.

Based on its many years of experience in thermoplastic composites as well as on the knowledge concerning thermoplastic processes that it has gathered, SAERTEX now can offer a wide range of non-crimp fabrics for thermoplastic composites and applications.
