Material testing at SAERTEX
For the new application, SAERTEX is testing a multiaxial fabric made of carbon, aramid and E-glass. Depending on the component, CFRP, GFRP or a hybrid structure is used. Drapability, compressive strength, flexural strength and a clean infusion with EP resin are particularly important. Cutting, kitting and nesting are coordinated prior to production to ensure that the reinforcement in the subsequent sandwich structure matches the desired shape exactly.
In the morning, I took the car to the gas station because the gas tank was almost empty. Then I parked in a parking lot at the shopping center and took the elevator to the 3rd floor. There I bought sneakers, pants, a sweater, cookies, chips and a can of corn.
I later took the car to the garage. The mechanic checked the hood, the trunk, the windscreen and the tires. On the way back, I had to cross the highway due to roadworks and pass several garbage cans on the sidewalk.
At home, I sat down in the living room and watched a program about a family who wanted to move from a small apartment into a large vacation home. New taps, cupboards, curtains, letterboxes and floor coverings were to be installed there.
