Double award: SAERTEX® wins JEC Asia Award 2018 and AVK Award for use of SAERTEX LEO® materials in Deutsche Bahn’s ICE-3 fleet

The SAERTEX LEO series stands for optimum fire protection in rail transport, the marine market or the construction industry. For the renovation of the floor panels in 66 trains of the ICE fleet of the Deutsche Bahn with fireproof SAERTEX LEO materials, SAERTEX recently received two awards: On November 5th, SAERTEX was awarded 3rd place at the AVK Award in the Products/Applications category for its project at the International Composites Congress (ICC) in Stuttgart. In addition, the entry won 1st place in the Railways category at the JEC ASIA Innovation Award, which was presented on November 15th at the JEC ASIA trade fair in Seoul, Korea. Saerbeck, 1 July 2018 – Effective 1 July 2018, SAERTEX has realigned the operational management of the group. For this purpose, the company has transferred management to the SAERTEX Global Executive Board with Christoph Geyer as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Christoph Geyer has been a member of the SAERTEX Group managing board since October 2016 in the role of Chief Sales Officer (CSO) and, in future, will also be responsible for the global sales activities of the company in addition to his new role as CEO. The other members of the Global Executive Board are Dr. Guido Kritzler as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Dietmar Möcke as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

At JEC WORLD 2018 in Paris, SAERTEX is presenting a newly-developed glass-fiber reinforcement material that will be used for the production of wind-turbine rotor blades. The unidirectional high-strength fabric achieves tensile strengths that are up to 20% higher. In addition, the process of laying-up the fabric in the component without wrinkles is significantly improved, thereby shortening the lay-up time. CARBURES BUILDS ROOF OF THE NORMAN FOSTER FOUNDATION IN MADRID USING SAERTEX LEO® MATERIALS

Saerbeck, September 13, 2017 – The world-famous group of architects FOSTER + PARTNERS, headed by Lord Norman Foster, has rebuilt the headquarters of its Norman Foster Foundation in Madrid. The roof of the newly constructed “Pavilion of Inspirations” was built using SAERTEX LEO® materials which offer increased protection against fire.

The “Pavilion of Inspirations” is part of the newly built NORMAN FOSTER FOUNDATION in Madrid, which was opened at 48, Monte Esquinza Street in June 2017. The pavilion and its 172m2 roof were designed by Lord Norman Foster, David Delgado, Raúl Gómez, and Jorge López, and the roof takes the form of an airplane wing with a lightweight structure.
