SAERTEX takes over Norwegian manufacturer of non crimp fabrics

The SAERTEX Group continues to expand and took over all shares in Devold from Hexagon Composites on 30 January 2014.

Devold, like SAERTEX, produces non crimp fabrics of glass fibre, carbon fibre and aramid fibre. These reinforcing textiles are used primarily in the wind energy industry, in ship- and boat-building, in the transport industry and in the automobile and aviation industries to make plastic reinforced components, also known as composites, and increasingly replace heavy materials such as steel or concrete nowadays. Devold has production locations in Lithuania and the U.S. The wind energy industry there is a key market that Devold will continue to serve independently.

“Taking over Devold enables us to expand our market position further” Bruno Lammers, managing partner in the SAERTEX Group, commented.
