Kick-off for the EU project IMMUNE
SAERTEX is contributing its material expertise to the EU-funded research project IMMUNE. The goal: to develop protective solutions that are lighter, more durable and more sustainable.
With the official project launch, a 36-month development phase has begun to create a new generation of high-performance components for personal protection equipment (PPE).
The challenge: traditional equipment is often heavy and restricts mobility. IMMUNE aims to address this by using innovative, REACH-compliant materials and a holistic, eco-friendly design approach.
Key benefits at a glance:
- 25% weight reduction
- Improved mobility through ergonomic design
- 100% recyclable materials
- 50% longer product lifespan
The project is coordinated by RISE – Research Institutes of Sweden. A total of six partners from four EU Member States are working together to set new standards in protective equipment. Beyond technical innovation, IMMUNE also supports a stronger European supply chain by sourcing all materials within the EU.
SAERTEX France contributes its extensive experience in high-performance fiber materials – helping to deliver better protection, enhanced comfort and sustainable solutions made in Europe.
