BALI catamarans are manufactured by HACO Shipyard based in El Haouaria, Tunisia. The Tunisian shipyard is part of the French CATANA Group, the third largest manufacturer of catamarans in the world, which is also particularly well known for its luxury yachts. In less than a year, SAERTEX® partnered with HACO to develop a new catamaran with an entire deck processed with the RTM method.

A comprehensive technical evaluation was conducted to identify the optimal solution for the CATSPACE project. In the end, we selected SAERcore Max because it delivers significant time savings in terms of resin flow speed. The method is also ideal for large components when the time available for the resin injection process is limited. By combining it with SAERfix, the mold filling time could also be significantly reduced. SAERfoam was chosen because it is significantly more stable than PVC, especially for long components. In addition, SAERTEX developed project-specific SAERcore Max and SAERfoam kits to significantly reduce the time required for cutting and draping in production at HACO Shipyard.
Thanks to the successful teamwork of the project partners, a new catamaran design was developed and implemented in less than a year, in which the entire deck is manufactured using the RTM process. BALI CATSPACE catamarans can already be seen on the world's oceans and at boat shows all over the world. SAERTEX's composites also provide significant time savings in the production of other HACO Shipyard catamaran models.
