Objective
Together with a manufacturer of fire trucks, Steiner has developed and produced part of the well-known Panther truck made of glass fiber reinforced plastic. The idea behind the project is based on using SAERfoam® PU 15 O 10-30 G for these parts in order to achieve new advantages.
1
Cost savings
2
Efficiency
3
Better temperature resistance

The bodies of the entire 12 m length of the truck are manufactured in GRP (glass fiber-reinforced plastic). The partnership with the manufacturer has now driven the "team cabin" project forward. An important success factor is the sandwich construction, which allows larger driver's cabs, water tanks and combined accessories to be produced. Due to their keen interest in improvements, Steiner and SAERTEX decided to use the glass fiber reinforced SAERfoam® core material to achieve better temperature resistance, higher efficiency and cost savings.
The outcome of the project was very positive, as the costs after impregnation were demonstrably reduced by around 10% after using SAERfoam®.
