The idea

For the production of their skis, Fischer needs materials that reduce weight while increasing stability.

The biggest challenge is the lightweight construction. In ski touring in particular, very lightweight designs must be developed that offer stable and reliable performance despite their low weight. The right balance between weight, stiffness, and resilience is crucial for every ski model.

Nevertheless, the company's goal is clear: every ski should be able to withstand more than the norm requires.

As one of the world's leading manufacturers of multiaxial fabrics, SAERTEX is the main supplier of glass fiber material for Fischer skis. In addition to the production, SAERTEX also supports joint material development. This results in customized reinforcement solutions that are specifically tailored to the respective ski categories.

Often hybrid fabrics made of glass and carbon fibers are used. 45° layers increase torsional stiffness, while 0° layers ensure precise and dynamic flex. This combination enables lightweight constructions with high stiffness: the basis for controlled and safe handling.
