Automated CFRP profile production for aviation and mobility of tomorrow
Today's production of fiber composite structures, especially in aviation, is characterized by a large number of manual and partially automated manufacturing processes. In order to meet the demand for an increased production rate while taking into account a high number of variants in a resource-saving and cost-efficient manner, the KOLIPRI project has developed innovative automated production technologies for chip production.
The aim of the KOLIPRI joint project "Cost-efficient solutions for the industrialized production of CFRP stiffening profiles" was to develop cost-efficient solutions for the industrialized production of CFRP stiffening profiles. A reduction in the current production costs for CFRP stiffeners was achieved and at the same time a reduction in process times compared to the current state of the art. The developed process chain enables the automated production of CFRP frames with a wide range of variants that can be used in modern passenger aircraft. It can also be used in vehicle construction as a stiffening element for the passenger cell, for example, while maintaining a high level of cost efficiency. Using environmentally friendly, energy-efficient processes, innovative components can help to save energy over the entire product life cycle and thus reduce CO2 emissions.
