Innovative glass fiber prepregs for fast and cost-efficient rotor blade repairs
Wind turbines are crucial for the generation of renewable energy. But what happens when the rotor blades need to be repaired?
To minimize downtimes and keep maintenance costs low, it is crucial to get critical components back into operation quickly. Repairing wind turbines requires precision, expertise and state-of-the-art technology. In collaboration with our valued customer SUNREZ, we have developed innovative UV-curing prepregs. These consist of four layers: a glass fiber NCF, a black UV carrier film, a transparent top film and a UV barrier film. The glass fiber fabric is optionally available as a UD, biax or combination fabric.
"The special thing about on-site repair with our fiberglass patches is their efficiency. It allows damaged parts to be repaired quickly while significantly reducing labor costs through short curing times." - Bret Tollgaard, CEO Sunrez Corp.
Together, we have developed the ideal fiberglass prepreg with just the right amount of resin for the wind energy market. Thanks to our advanced technology, repair patches can be installed and cured in less than 10 minutes, ensuring a fast and effective repair. This allows wind turbines to operate at maximum performance.
