Wind turbine rotor blades are subject to enormous mechanical stress. With the trend towards ever longer blades and more powerful turbines, the demands on the material are also increasing - especially in the Spar Cap. Due to the increasing curvature of these components, the laminate material must not only be resilient, but also extremely flexible in processing. In the production of rotor blades, even small waves or creases in the fabric can lead to massive problems - from instability to rejects.
