SAERcore®
The high-flow solution for RTM and infusion
SAERcore is our patented product range for closed injection processes such as RTM (resin transfer molding) and RTM light, as well as for infusion processes. The highlight: SAERcore features an optimized resin flow zone. This allows the resin to flow four times faster—and even five times faster in our special high-flow version.
Typical areas of application
Structure of the sandwich complex
SAERcore is a sandwich complex and consists in its basic version of one or two layers of chopped strand mat (CSM) and a core material (resin flow zone). The „two-step impregnation“ process saves a considerable amount of time, as the flow aid greatly accelerates horizontal injection across the entire width of the component.
How it works:
1. First the resin flows into the core material (resin flow zone) - horizontal injection.
2. Then, the resin impregnates the outer reinforcements - vertical injection.
You can find additional information on our standard materials in our SAERTEX Basic Line.
The advantages of SAERcore at a glance
Efficient and fast resin infusion
High flow speed for short process times - especially for large components.
Optimal drapability and easy handling
Excellent drapability for complex shapes and high surface quality.
High surface quality
For an optimal surface appearance of the finished component, SAERcore can also be supplemented with an additional fleece. Also available as kits!
Flexibly customizable
The outer layers can consist of one or two layers of chopped strand mat (CSM), with freely selectable CSM fibers. Material width, flow aid, and fiber type can also be individually configured according to customer requirements.
Can be combined with other SAERTEX solutions
Reinforced: with SAERcore MAX molding in just one step and improved mechanical properties thanks to multiaxial layup (all-in-one).
Self-adhesive: SAERcore and SAERcore MAX in combination with SAERfix to further reduce molding time and avoid spray adhesive.
