More capacity and shorter delivery times: SAERTEX® takes over TK Industries
At the beginning of July 2019, SAERTEX acquired one hundred percent of the shares in the Bavarian company TK Industries GmbH, thereby further expanding its range of multiaxial fabrics made from heavy tow carbon fibers.
TK Industries is a highly specialized, medium-sized fabric manufacturer based in Selbitz in the Upper Franconian district of Hof (Germany). At its production site, the company exclusively processes carbon fibers using state-of-the-art multiaxial production technology. The production technology is optimized for the use of cost-effective 24K and 50K rovings, and the products manufactured at TK Industries therefore perfectly complement the SAERTEX range of high-quality multiaxial fabrics. Customers can be found in the industrial and transportation sectors, particularly in boatbuilding and the automotive industry. In addition to new opportunities for the SAERTEX Group, there are also benefits for customers. "By acquiring TK Industries, we are creating additional capacity in the short term to meet the continuously increasing demand for carbon fiber fabrics and thus enable improved delivery times for our customers," says Christoph Geyer, CEO SAERTEX Group.
The aim is to grow together and utilize joint resources in purchasing, production and sales. "We have already seen initial successes and are convinced that we can further improve our range of multiaxial carbon fabrics through close cooperation. Our strength lies in spreading heavy tows to low basis weights and processing them into lightweight NCFs," says Mirko Ackermann, Operations Manager at TK Industries, looking to the future.
