SAERTEX takes over Norwegian fabric manufacturer

SAERTEX® takes over Devold: Growth and expansion in fabric production

The SAERTEX Group continues to grow and acquired all shares in the Norwegian company Devold from Hexagon Composites on January 30, 2014.

Like SAERTEX, Devold produces non-crimp fabrics made from glass fibers, carbon fibers and aramid fibers. These reinforcement textiles are mainly used in the wind industry, boat and shipbuilding, transportation and in the automotive and aviation industries to make plastic-reinforced components, so-called composites, and are increasingly replacing heavier construction materials such as steel or concrete. Devold has production sites in Lithuania and the USA. The wind industry there is also the key market that Devold will continue to serve successfully on its own.

"With the acquisition of Devold, we are further expanding our market position," comments Bruno Lammers, Managing Partner of the SAERTEX Group, on the takeover.
