Reducing the product carbon footprint

Sustainability through natural fibers: The new flax fiber fabrics from SAERTEX®

One idea for reducing the carbon footprint of products is to reduce over-engineering by using natural fibers. In collaboration with Terre de Lin, one of the world's largest suppliers of linen, we have developed this new product range for you: the new flax fiber fabrics. Manufactured by SAERTEX in France.

In many places, the new flax fabrics will not be able to replace glass fiber reinforcement materials. But they are one way of reducing the CO2 footprint. For example, for interior parts in boats, for skis or boards and for composite parts in transportation - where the mechanical properties of flax fibres are good enough.

The JEC Group has set up its own natural fiber village in Hall 5 at JEC WORLD 2023. In Hall 5 you will also find the SAERTEX booth - right at the entrance - to discuss this topic with our experts for your next composite project.
