EU project IMMUNE

Kick-off for the EU project IMMUNE

SAERTEX is contributing its materials expertise to the EU-funded IMMUNE research project. The aim is to develop protection solutions that are lighter, more robust and more sustainable.

The official start of the project marks the beginning of a 36-month development process for a new generation of high-performance components in personal protective equipment (PPE).

The main challenge: conventional equipment is often heavy and restricts mobility.

This is precisely where IMMUNE comes in - with innovative, REACH-compliant materials and a well thought-out, sustainable design approach. The intended benefits at a glance:

  • 25 % less weight
  • More freedom of movement thanks to ergonomic design
  • 100 % recyclable
  • 50 % longer service life

The project is coordinated by RISE – Research Institutes of Sweden. Six partners from four EU member states are working together to set new standards in protective equipment. The focus is not only on technological innovation, but also on strengthening European supply chains: all materials used come from the EU.

SAERTEX France is contributing its many years of experience in the field of high-performance fibers to the project - for greater safety, comfort and sustainability.
