Fiber composite solutions in sports: lightweight construction in motion
Fiber composites are now an integral part of modern sports equipment: from skis and snowboards to bicycle frames, helmets, surfboards and rackets. Our non-crimp fabrics ensure maximum stability with minimum weight - and enable high-performance, durable products that perform even under high loads.
SAERTEX has been supplying technical textiles made of glass, carbon and natural fibers for the sports industry for over 40 years - tailored to specific requirements. Even in our early years, manufacturers of skis, snowboards and other sports equipment were among our first customers. To this day, our materials are used in the products of many well-known sports brands, both in series production and in professional sports.

Our strengths in the SPORTS industry
Technical performance that impresses
Whether as UD, multiaxial or CSM: we supply exactly the right combination of materials for your application - for targeted rigidity, maximum strength and weight advantages.
Proven solutions for the highest loads
Our textiles made of glass, carbon and aramid have been used for decades in skis, snowboards, surfboards and helmets - tested many times under extreme conditions.
Partnership on equal terms - worldwide
From product development to series production, our specialists support you with application expertise and engineering support - available worldwide.
Application in focus
The challenge in ski construction lies in finding the right balance between weight and stability. Composite reinforcements enable a targeted combination of torsional stiffness and flexibility. This ensures performance that can be individually adapted to each ski model.
Hybrid fabrics made from a glass-carbon mix
The combination of both raw materials enables a good balance between weight and stability and thus ensures optimum riding characteristics.
Multiaxial fabrics
The use of 45° and 0° layers ensures the ideal combination of flexibility and torsional stiffness.
Other areas of application for the sports industry
Skis & Snowboards
Carbon and glass fiber fabrics combine stability, flexibility and low weight in skis and snowboards. The result is performance that can be felt on the slopes.
Surfing & Wakeboards
Multiaxial fabrics made of carbon and glass offer high stability and flexibility. This results in durable surfboards and boards for maximum control on the water.
Canoes
Lightweight carbon and fiberglass composites reduce weight and increase durability on the water.
Bicycles & rims
Carbon fiber composites for frames, rims and structural parts combine low weight, high rigidity and long durability for various bicycle components.
Helmets & protectors
Fiber composites with high impact resistance offer reliable protection and comfortable wear - even unser heavy loads.
Tennis, hockey & more
Fiber composite solutions for rackets and other sports equipment offer precise control, high impact power and the right balance of weight and stability.
Reinforcement materials for summer and winter sports
The use of glass fibers is often the first choice for efficient series applications - light, stable and economical. In professional sports, on the other hand, carbon is increasingly being used when maximum performance is required. Hybrid composite solutions that specifically combine the advantages of different fiber types are also becoming increasingly common.
Self-adhesive non-crimp fabrics reduce positioning and draping time by up to 50% compared to spray adhesives. The adhesive formula lasts up to 10x longer, is compatible with UP, EP and VE resins and ensures consistently high laminate strength. Environmentally friendly and osmosis resistant.
Unidirectional carbon fiber tapes from 6 mm width ensure maximum dimensional accuracy and improved fiber bonding through powder coating. Ideal for automated production of complex geometries, with minimum waste and maximum material efficiency.
Multiaxial and unidirectional fabrics are versatile reinforcing materials for fiber-reinforced plastics. They are used in many industries wherever lightweight yet resilient components are required.
