EFFICIENCY

True to its slogan of „FASTER, BETTER, LIGHTER – GO FOR EFFICIENCY“ SAERTEX demonstrates practical solutions that help to make composite structures and components even more lightweight and make processes even faster and more cost-effective.

Replacing core material made of natural balsa wood with SAERfoam®, which has many advantages, and using carbon non-crimp fabrics for many different applications are only two of many examples to increase efficiency. Increase your own efficiency with SAERTEX products and take a look at the impressive results by a few examples.

Meet us and our application consultants at the Composites Europe in Düsseldorf, Hall 8a, Booth G20 from November 29 to December 1, and let us win you over with our solutions.

Efficiency

Carbon

Carbon non-crimp fabrics enable lightweight construction, individual formability even with complex geometries, high rigidity despite low weight, and they are extremely resilient under high stress.

SAERTEX products are always tailor-made, i.e. individually configured for our customers and optimized in the choice of components and overall processes.

We will show you by means of an impressive example how our materials achieve weight savings of 50% and reduce CO2 emissions. Discover the SEASIGHT, Ship of the Year 2016, in Norway – a legend made of carbon.

VISION OF THE FJORDS – A LEGEND OUT OF CARBON

BRØDRENE AA

Brødrene AA is the world market leader in the construction of fast ferries made of carbon fiber composite materials. SAERTEX supplies the carbon non-crimp fabric for Brødrene AA’s fast ferries. Only carbon non-crimp fabric made by SAERTEX was used for the new hybrid sightseeing ship, resulting in weight savings of 50% and fuel savings of 20%.

SAERFOAM VS. BALSA WOOD

As the main supplier of non-crimp fabrics for applications in the wind industry, SAERTEX is constantly looking for innovative materials with the goal of providing further optimizations of composite solutions for its customers. This includes not only the performance of fiber reinforcements, but also the processes and interaction of the non-crimp fabrics, the core materials and the matrix for use in sandwich construction.

The SAERTEX core material, SAERfoam, is a result of this innovation process. SAERfoam is our structural core material containing 3D glass bridges and has been optimized for infusion, RTM and compression processes. Over the years, SAERfoam has established itself in sectors such as shipbuilding and transportation. Due to new variations and its being certified by DNV-GL, SAERfoam has now also become an interesting alternative to balsa wood in the wind industry.

Why should you switch from using balsa wood to SAERfoam in your process? Take a look for yourself:
