From October 27-29, SAERTEX once again presented at the Composites Europe trade-fair, the European trade-fair for composite materials that took place in Stuttgart this year. 313 exhibitors from 25 countries and 6 120 trade people came to the fourth edition of the fair. The sectors related to the complete value-added chain of fibre-reinforced plastic looks to the future with careful optimism. The SAERTEX group shares this outlook, and found it reinforced by many positive trade-fair talks with customers and interested parties.

In Stuttgart, SAERTEX presented innovative solutions for important fields of application, such as vehicle construction, the air and aerospace industry, as well as building and construction. Reducing weight while maintaining high mechanical strength plays an increasingly large role in the construction of high-tech components. As a result, a SAERTEX project from the United States drew particularly large interest from the visitors in Stuttgart as well. The world’s first completely battery-powered transit bus was built entirely from composites (without any supporting metal structures) and is already in operation in the state of California. The unidirectional carbon fibres, as well as various glass fibre fabrics (unidirectional, bidiagonal, triaxial, quadriaxial) were produced and supplied by SAERTEX USA.
