“Green transportation” - in the USA, the State of California is looking for environmentally friendly solutions for public transportation. And they have already found one: In San Francisco, the first transit bus driven exclusively by batteries is now taking its maiden voyage. The savings in weight required were achieved through the use of SAERTEX fabrics for the construction of the more than ten-meter long bus.

The trend-setting bus was constructed completely from composites (without any supporting metal structures). Unidirectional carbon fibers and various types of glass-fiber fabrics (unidirectional, bidiagonal, triaxial, quadraxial) were used.
