With SAERfix® EP and SAERfix® UP, fabrics are self-adherent. The adhesive material in the SAERfix® EP product line, which SAERTEX developed and for which they have a patent pending, is compatible with epoxy resins and is chemically incorporated in the matrix during the course of curing. Reinforcing textiles in the SAERfix® UP product line are equipped with a UP- and vinylester-compatible adhesive.
SAERfix® reduces the time expenditure for the application of the reinforcement textile onto vertical forms (e.g. rotor blade construction, ship hulls). There is no need to spray on additional adhesive. And that saves time.
SAERfix® is simple to handle. The fabric can be removed and reapplied as necessary. With SAERfix®, the fibers in the fabric remain in place better. Once applied, the fabric will neither slip nor bulge; it remains in the desired position.
In contrast to the conventionally used textile adhesives, SAERfix® EP practically does not affect the mechanical properties of the laminate. Its elastifying effect even improves the fatigue life. Composites with SAERfix® UP fabrics even demonstrate better mechanical properties than components with conventionally applied fabrics.
