Standstill is regression – which is why SAERTEX is always moving forward.
The global market leader in developing and manufacturing technical textiles (Non Crimp Fabrics) based in Saerbeck, Germany, plans to invest 15 million Euros in 2008 to expand its global footprint.
On 01 February 2008 a new manufacturing facility was opened in the Portuguese port city Porto. The plant has an area of 2,400 sqm and will initially manufacture approximately 2,000 tonnes of technical reinforcements for clients on the Iberian peninsular. The new location means greatly improved customer service due to market proximity. Most of the clients of the new facility are in the wind energy industry, which is expanding significantly.
SAERTEX is also currently building a new facility in China, one of the world's fastest growing markets, to supply the wind energy and shipbuilding industries. The 4 million Euro plant in Dongying, approximately 400 kms south east of Peking, will begin production in mid-2008.
Further investment is planned - especially in the booming aviation and wind energy industries. SAERTEX multiCom, a SAERTEX group subsidiary, is growing apace too. Their SAERTEX Liner is a state-of-the-art product for refurbishing drains without having to dig them up. Now that SAERTEX multiCom has established itself on the German and European markets, plans to expand in the global export business in the future are getting realized.
